A VETERAN entertainer with roots firmly planted in several East Lancashire towns will return later this month in the latest chapter in his long-running showbiz career.
And funnyman Jim Bowen, 60, is looking forward to a new role as presenter on a local radio show.
The former Bullseye favourite, who lived in Accrington, Nelson and Padiham, as a boy, said: "I like this part of the country and I feel comfortable here."
"East Lancashire folk are nice people, I seem to sit easily with them and I'm looking forward to getting out on to the streets."
Jim, a trained teacher who lives with wife Phyllis in Caton, Lancaster, is looking forward to the challenge of radio. He went on: "I've done interviews and chats on radio during my career but actually driving the show will be a new challenge.
