WITH regard to Councillor Dave Hollings remarks (Letters, March 15) about the Euro/American banana war, he asserts that, because of this, we should become a part of the European Union 'for all its faults.'
The faults, of course, are fraud and corruption.
He states that the Americans are terrified of the Europeans 'standing together.' What a joke?
The American economy is booming while the European economies are stagnant and have 18 million unemployed!
Why should we join what is plainly a mess?
D BULLEN (Mr), Albany Road, Blackburn.
