ADRIAN Shurmer (LET, March 17) is absolutely right about the future facing vehicular traffic, which can only be made worse if we are faced with priority bus lanes on a route which has been narrowed to single-lane traffic by chicanes, islands, humps and bumps in places.
His suggestion for a new relief road, going from Hyndburn Bridge, Great Harwood, to Blackburn Road, Rishton, which apparently would use land at present not in any sort of use as far as I can see, is first-class, and well worth following up.
