I WOULD like to thank everyone involved in the International Women's Festival 1999.
Almost a thousand women from groups and organisations across Blackburn and Darwen were involved in more than 100 events to celebrate what has become an important week in our calendar. Through their sheer hard work and dedication the week of activities was a huge success.
Supermarkets, shopping centres, markets and many other venues all played their part by allowing us to use their premises as a means of exhibiting our displays, enabling us to spread the word about the festival.
Other organisations sponsored our celebrations by donating prizes for the different competitions.
I would like to thank the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for the extensive coverage of events and activities.
