DETECTIVES investigating the murder of 21-year-old Brierfield man Shabaz Arshad are interviewing a man arrested yesterday in London.
The 24-year-old local man was brought to Burnley police station last night.
Det Insp Colin Barton said: "I can confirm that a man was arrested in London and is now being questioned in connection with the inquiry into the murder of Mr Arshad."
Mr Arshad of Woodside Terrace, Brierfield, died in the Royal Hospital Preston on March 8, 16 days after he suffered head injuries in an incident in a back street behind Halifax Road, Brierfield.
Two men have appeared in court charged with murder
Wasim Raza, 22, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, and Imran Bashir, also 22, of Talbot Street, Burnley, appeared at Burnley Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody.
