DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Blackburn couple Mohammed and Bilquis Karim plan to flood the Asian community with appeals for help.
Leaflets in Urdu and Hindu are being distributed in Blackburn and Preston in a bid to get witnesses from the Asian community to come forward.
The Karims, who ran a jewellery business in Preston town centre, were stabbed to death in their shop last Friday afternoon.
Mohammed, also known as Tony , 52, and his 48-year-old wife were from Whalley Old Road, Little Harwood.
Shabir and Shafiq Karim, the couple's sons, raised the alarm after finding their parents dead at the shop.
It was later revealed £30,000 worth of gold bracelets had been stolen from the shop .
Fifty detectives has been working on the investigation around the clock and is chasing up several leads.
They are still examining video footage taken from security cameras inside the shop.
It was originally believed the security video was stolen by the raiders, but police say they have recovered a tape and are still examining it closely.
Detectives have been flooded with calls since appealing for help and are busy talking to everyone who has contacted them.
They are also trying to match up information from the public with footage from close circuit cameras around the jewellers shop.
A painstaking search of the Church Street shop was completed yesterday and door to door inquiries are still being carried out in the area.
