A 'FLOWER fund' to brighten up the borough has grown this year.
Last year over £117,000 was spent on schemes. The total this year has blossomed to £160,000.
The most recent schemes have included funding for hanging baskets in Atherton.
The Brighter Borough Scheme fund is also providing £3,000 towards improvements to community rooms at Heath Street Methodist Chapel, Golborne.
A number of schools will benefit. St George's Primary School, Atherton, is to receive signs as part of its adoption of Collier Brook, while All Saints' Primary School, Golborne, will pick up a contribution to its Parish Map work.
Any community group who have a project in mind which improves their area should contact local ward councillors.
