THIS letter is addressed to the thoroughly inconsiderate dog owners who regularly allow their dogs to foul the pavements in School Lane, Rainhill, and in particular the owner who this week has allowed their dog to make a mess right in front of the gate of St Bartholomew's Primary School. It is inevitable that children step in the dirt and that the germs are then brought into school, creating a health hazard and an awful smell.
Today, as my five-year-old daughter ran into school her lunch-box opened accidentally and the contents fell into the dog dirt by the gate. I am absolutely disgusted that this has happened, and extremely angry that certain dog owners feel it is acceptable to let their animals foul the streets, regardless of the health risks to local children and the aggravation caused to parents who have to clean dirty shoes etc.
If owners must exercise their dogs in the street, why on earth can't they have the decency to clear up after them?
Rest assured that I have complained to the council and the dog wardens, in the hope that these inconsiderate people will soon be caught and fined.
