Were Lionel Vinyl, the Phantom of the Opera, Minnie Mouse new students perhaps?
The reason had to be Comic Relief.
For the 'relief'' of donating 50p, many Blackpool students donned fancy dress and did their bit for charity.
Many a squeaky red nose was worn as the day drew significance to a very courageous cause.
It was a clear example of the hope the younger generation place in wanting to help those in greater need.
