Woolston A 28 Haresfinch 18 FINCH were on the wrong end of a number of controversial decisions as they finished the game with just 10 men.
After a scrappy start, the visitors took the lead with a 50-yard solo effort by skipper Andy Hanley, converted by Damian Clitheroe.
Woolston replied with three tries, two converted, before centre Eddie Tinsley grabbed Finch's second.
The impressive Clitheroe again added the goal but departed the action shortly afterwards and Woolston took advantage, adding two further tries to lead 24-12 at the interval.
Finch replied early in the second half with a solo try by veteran player/coach Billy Platt who also added the goal.
But the visitors' hopes of a comeback were dashed by three dismissals and their 10 men tackled valiantly to restrict Woolston to just one further try.
The Franco's Wholesale Ltd. man of the match was hooker Stuart Simmons, closely followed by Tinsley and debutant Craig Dubois.

This was a gutsy display by the Finch youngsters who notched two more vital points in their promotion quest.
The final scoreline flattered the home side who had the benefit of a number of dubious decisions, but Finch weathered the storm and forged ahead with two barnstorming tries by skipper Roy Tickle, plus a goal by stand-off Adam Williams.
After the break Leigh East threw everything at the visitors but Finch held on for a well-deserved victory.
Best for the winners were the impressive Tickle along with Alan Ashton, Chris Highcock, Paul Hevey, Ant Parr and Ant Hampson.
