A LOWTON couple have filmed the 'mystery guest' spot on the nation's favourite sporting quiz.
Bill and Elizabeth Alderson (pictured), of Newton Road, will find their 15 minutes of fame appearing on the BBC's Question of Sport - in the section in which the teams try to identify a camouflaged star.
The couple, who recently joined Leigh's Dimples Agency, were selected to take part in a haunted castle setting with an England and Northampton RU favourite.
They drove down to Castle Ashby, owned by the Marquis of Northampton, to film the sequence.
Bill, a retired managing director, and Elizabeth, a housewife and mum of two teenagers, are filmed driving upto the castle in their own car, a Citroen Xantia, on a dark moonlight night, knocking on the door and being met by the butler.
Then in an appropriately scary atmosphere they have a meal with the sporting maestro disguised as Dracula, complete with cloak and fangs, lurking in the midst.
Elizabeth said: "We joined the agency and were thrilled when they rang us saying the BBC were looking for a middle aged couple to appear in a scene.
"It was an absolutely terrific day, loads of fun - and you get paid as well.
"When we arrived we were met by the real butler and shown around before filming started.
"The castle was given an horror film aura with grey and blue bulbs. When it is shown we drive up on the night of a full moon with lightning crashing in the background - typical of the old films.
"It was a day we won't forget, we could do with something like that once a week. We filmed for hours, but the scene when it is shown will probably only be a couple of minutes."
