NEIL Warnock's mid-week trip to Turf Moor paid dividends as the Bury boss saw enough of Middlesbrough midfielder Anthony Ormerod to make a pre-deadline swoop.

Ormerod will help Bury's First Division relegation fight during a loan spell to the end of the season.

Paul Gascoigne took centre stage in the Boro reserve side which beat Burnley 5-1.

But most eye-catching was striker Andy Campbell, whose turn of pace for his second goal left jaws dropping everywhere, including that of Clarets winger Glen Little who watched from the stand.

Teenager Campbell will be scaring First Division defences for the rest of the season after re-joining Sheffield United on loan.

THE most notable piece of pre-deadline transfer business involving Burnley's relegation rivals saw York City striker Richard Cresswell join Sheffield Wednesday for £950,000.

BURNLEY reserves' scheduled Pontins League game at Grimsby Town next Tuesday night has been postponed.

THE CLARETS Football in the Community Easter soccer schools are being held next week. The three-day schools run from March 29-31 at Turf Moor (cost) £20 and Centre Vale, Todmoredn (cost £18).

Venues will also be in use at Accrington, Rawtenstall, Bradley and Gisburn in April.

THE Clarets unique pre-match entertainment involving the Swankypants troupe of dogs is set to continue at Turf Moor for tomorrow's game against Macclesfield Town. The seven dogs and their handlers made their debuts in front of the Sky cameras before Burnley's derby clash with Preston.

And they will be back again sporting their claret and blue colours tomorrow and for the Easter Monday visit of Colchester United.

The half-time interval in the Macclesfield game will feature a military theme and on Monday week the dogs will be performing to Swan Lake.
