NIGHT workers at Burnley die-casting firm Lupton and Place has been made redundant with the loss of a dozen jobs.
The news is another blow for workers in Burnley following the announcement that 120 jobs are to go at Lucas.
Lupton & Place based in Athletic Street manufacture a wide range of components for the gas, domestic appliances, motor and engineering industries and employs more than 150.
A company spokesman said: "The job losses are unfortunate for the individuals concerned. It is not a full shift that is involved but a few workers who were taken on to accommodate demand.
"My only comment is that we are still employing more people now than we were 12 to 18 months ago.''
