WHEN Roxanne Gregory decided to set out for a lorra, lorra laughs and a little bit of lurve, she certainly didn't expect to end up alongside 78-year-old Leonard Church!
The two met when they both decided to attend auditions for the next series of hit TV show Blind Date, held at the Forte Posthouse, Preston.
Roxanne, of Shadsworth Road, Blackburn, will be kept waiting for months to find out if she will have the chance to pick her ideal man in front of millions of Saturday night viewers.
But she knows what type of bloke she is after.
The Territorial Army soldier, 19, said: "He has to be cute, funny, outgoing and has to have bags of personality.
"In fact, he has to be just like Leonard!"
Bosses from London Weekend Television, who are currently touring the country picking potential Mr and Miss Rights for the next series, said they were impressed by Roxanne, who sported stunning club gear in the hope it would attract the TV researchers' eyes.
But she isn't holding out much hope of being given the chance to meet her ideal man.
The former Blackburn College student said: "I saw the advert in a pub in Preston and thought I'd come down with some mates to give it a go.
"It's all a bit of a laugh really but I want to be the one that does the picking!"
And as for Leonard, from Preston, well, he was impressed with Roxanne.
"She's a stunner," he cooed. He hopes to be picked so he can meet Cilla Black, who he described as 'wonderful.'
