REGARDING Neil Bramwell's remarks in 'Woof Justice If Ginola Gets Award' (LET, March 18), what is it with the men of today who can't help but criticise a most gifted player who just happens to draw female attention whilst scoring consistently for his team?

It seems like the green-eyed monster is at work here when it comes to David Ginola who does have a few attributes that place him in a most envious position.

Which woman, who is exposed to that glossy mane, the lustful lips, smouldering eyes and trim physique cannot help but fall for the French fantasy?

But it's not only the looks that Ginola possesses that makes him the star that he is. His silky skills on the field, which were evident in the FA Cup-tie with Barnsley, can only lead to the sort of magnificent finishes that we saw.

And it just doesn't stop there, does it? What more do you men out there want than to be a millionaire football star with a blonde on your arm on the way to a movie premiere? I don't think any man would give this opportunity up if he was given half the chance as well as starring in a glamorous shampoo advert, so why criticise Ginola for enjoying the lifestyle he's worked so hard to achieve?

As for the PFA Player of the Year award, if his professional comrades think he is worthy of this honour, then why shouldn't he be rewarded with this prestige?

And if Dwight Yorke, David Beckham or Michael Owen are considered better, then so be it, because in the end, it's in the players' hands.

So, why do I think Ginola deserves it? Because he's worth it.
