CLITHEROE's Carol Richardson put Lancashire show-jumping firmly on the map at the Jersey National Show Jumping Championships, staged at the British Equestrian Centre in Warwickshire, with a win and several good placings in major finals.
Carol made the journey down from Gisburn Park Stables with six horses, qualifying for a remarkable four finals against countrywide opposition. This determined and talented rider, who returned to her chosen sport after the loss of an eye in a riding accident, began her run in the Jersey Senior Discovery Championships.
She won this class on the show's opening day by a clear round, after jumping three superb clear rounds on Handels Oriodante.
