I OFTEN hear about school reunions and I wonder what it would be like at a Grimshaw Park, Blackburn, reunion of youngsters from the 1950s and 1960s era.
I guess we would have lots to talk about - Croft Gang and the Spare Land Gang and how we would all protect our own bonfires up to the big night on November 5.
Sometimes, we would all go off to Primrose Hill with our flat wagons and speed down the hill, only to all end up in a heap half way down when a wheel came off.
Some days we would go to the old 'rec' off Vale Street and play on the Spider's Web and Umbrella and, oh, those awful dark underground shelters they had there - they used to frighten us all to death.
On a sunny day, we would take a picnic up to Ingle Woods, which we called Bluebell Wood because of all the bluebells there.
I know a lot of the people of that era are still alive. I will never forget those times we all had.
