POLICE are appealing for information about a sex pest who indecently assaulted a 10-year-old girl.
The youngster was walking along a path near grassland next to Burnley Football Club, Brunshaw Road, when a 60-year-old man put one hand over her mouth and carried out the indecent assault.
He pushed the frightened girl to the ground and ran off.
The offender is described as white, 5ft 5ins tall with a wrinkled face and grey hair.
He had plasters on the knuckles of his right hand. He was wearing a grey and black striped cap, green thigh-length jacket zipped up to the neck, grey trousers and brown shoes without any laces.
The girl described him as scruffy and said his clothes were dirty and torn.
The incident happened at 5pm on Friday.
