ALL bets are off for Chorley Football Club's annual player of the year award - because of a shortage of genuine contenders!
Since Dalton Steele's arrival as manager virtually an entire new team has come in with only players such as Simon March and Ian Leather remaining in the squad, and Marsh has missed a large chunk of the action through injury.
That leaves young Leather as favourite to collect the trophy tomorrow night, after giving some stirring displays since forcing his way into the side in November.
Though even he will no doubt admit that it could be somewhat by default.
Perhaps a "former player of the year" contest would be more appropriate for the Victory Park faithful.
