TEENAGE keeper Andrew Longergan hopes to put his England heartache behind him this weekend as he flies out to France to prove his ability to play at international level.
Andrew, a PNE trainee, missed out on playing for England against the Republic of Ireland at Deepdale last month after being struck down with a bout of laryngitis.
Instead, Reading's Shaun Allaway stood in between the posts.
But now Andrew is hoping to make an impact over Easter in a special tournament being held in Cilsson, France, where an U-15 tournament is being held.
England are in Group A and Andrew faces the prospect of keeping a clean sheet against the best teenage striking talent from China, Cameroon and Italy.
They will then be paired against the same placed opposition in Group B, so they will end playing one of Spain, France, Jamaica or Gabon.
Andrew's Dad Michael said: "We are going out to watch him.
"He is really up for this and it is a great chance for him to put the miserable time he has had recently behind him."
