LENNY Johnrose is hoping to make up for lost time by helping Burnley pick up back-to-back wins for the first time this season at Notts County tomorrow.
Johnrose has endured a disastrous start to his Clarets career following a £225,000 move from Bury seven weeks ago.
A sending off at Wycombe in his second game for the club landed him a three-match ban.
And as he sat on the sidelines having signed off in the 5-0 home drubbing by Gillingham, Burnley picked up just one point and scored a solitary goal against Manchester City, Preston and Wrexham.
"I am one of the world's worst watchers so sitting and watching us getting beat there could have been nothing worse.
"Missing the two big games as well, it couldn't have been a worse start," Johnrose admitted.
As well as being on the banned list, Johnrose - who missed only seven League games in two full seasons with Bury prior to the start of the current campaign - was also struggling with a niggling injury which meant he couldn't even tick over on the training ground. However, things looked up last Sunday when his first steps on the comeback trail saw him appear as a second-half substitute and help Burnley to a priceless 4-3 win over Macclesfield Town.
"I was itching to play to be honest but having not played for four weeks it was probably right that I didn't start. But it didn't make any difference, I was still dying to play. "At 2-0 down I was thinking here we go again but we did brilliantly to get back into it and all credit to the lads," he said.
And with that 35-minute run-out under his belt, Johnrose may well return to the Clarets starting line-up at Meadow Lane.
Burnley need to put the brake on County's recent impressive run which has lifted them above the Clarets and out of the Second Division relegation zone, although not out of all danger.
And Johnrose's combatative qualities may well be required with Burnley anxious to build on their first win in nine games.
"Everyone around the ground has been buzzing this week but it's important we don't leave it here and take it Notts County tomorrow," insisted Johnrose.
"We hope it was a turning point and we have got to make sure it is. "I am desperate to play. Like I said there is nothing worse than watching and not getting involved but there's nothing you can do.
"And after a great result on Sunday whether or not he changes it I don't know, it's now down to me, but obviously I want to play."
Burnley have lost just once in six away games and with tomorrow's clash quickly followed by Monday's home date with struggling Colchester, it's a record they are keen to extend.
"They're games we can't lose and obviously we will be looking to win them both. That would give us a great lift to win them and if we do we will be on our way.
"With another couple of results the lads will be flying," Johnrose insisted.
