KYLE Stewart and Christopher Brooks gave the Hoppers' scrummage steely determination while Sam Butler, Matthew Lambert, Howard Clark, Richard Kwasnicki and Phillip McDonald ran the tries home.

HOPPERS took every available squad member to Whitchurch where Oliver Sly opened the scoring. Aggressive tackling from Jonathan Mahon and John Davies was not enough to stop Whitchurch taking the lead. Tom Livesey and Sly completed the scoring for Hoppers.

GRASSHOPPERS U12s 40 LEICESTER VIPERS 28

LEICESTER arrived with a win over Fylde to find the U12s in top form.

Daniel Fryer was pushed over the line by the forwards for the first before centres Charles Cuddy and Robert Pearson added to the score. Alex James scored the try of the match after Stuart Horn feigned a pass to Cuddy.

ORMSKIRK U13s 7 GRASSHOPPERS 50

SPEEDY winger Chris Rush 's three tries set up the win for Hoppers. James Cooper also put in an outstanding performance with some superb tackling.

WINNINGTON PARK U16s 17 GRASSHOPPERS 12

HOPPERS had a much-depleted side in the first half at Cheshire due to transport difficulties. More players managed to arrive by half time and Oliver Caunce managed a try in what was ultimately a lethergic Hoppers display. Matthew Sharples added to the score.

GRASSHOPPERS U17s 22 LEIGH 27

A TRY in the dying moments denied Hoppers a win against the recently-crowned U17's Lancashire Cup Champions. Centre Wayne Raynor grounded twice for ten points but Leigh's last gasp score took the result beyond Hopper's reach. There will be no Hoppers action on Easter Sunday.
