SWEET Charity (Your Letters, March 19) asks what overheads charity shops have.
Well, I asked quite a few and surprisingly they pay full rent, telephone bills, rates, electricity and water.
I give a lot of clothes and other items to charity shops and don't know where else I could buy designer labels that cheap. Also, I would be insulted if I thought they were selling my brand name dresses for less than a fiver! I think a lot of people don't look closely enough at the quality of clothes and labels these shops sell.
I know charity begins at home but while "Sweet Charity" lines her pockets at car boot sales, I would rather help our local charity shops who need it more.
