A HI-TEC Hindley company is making a big splash Down Under with specialised computer software for shipping ports.
And business is looking so good for the Platt Lane based firm, Capitol Business Services Ltd., that they have set up a full-time Australian division based in Sydney.
The expansion follows the clinching of a contract with shipping giant P & O to install their computerised port management system into 13 of the group's Australian and New Zealand ports.
Capitol have been developing computer systems for shipping, transport and distribution industries for almost 20 years, and in this time have established themselves as market leaders in computerised container control.
They also have other major customers worldwide.
Marketing manager, Paul Jones, said: "This is a very exciting time. As well as P & O we have some other prestigious projects in the pipeline."
