LANCASHIRE Lynx face a busy Easter with two games over the holiday weekend.
Today they were due to entertain Barrow Border Raiders at Victory Park, (kick off 3pm) and on Easter Monday they travel to the Auto Quest Stadium to take on Widnes (kick off 3pm)
Coach Steve Hampson introduced ex-Warrington players Shaun Geritas and Lee Rushton along with ex-Halifax forward Andy James, all of whom showed promise for the future. This week he has tried to sign Leigh's alliance captain Sheldon Hannan and experienced hooker Paul Gartland from Widnes but both offers have rejected for the moment.
Steve Gee will miss both games as he awaits a scan on his injured knee whilst Tommy Hodgkinson should be fit after picking up a knock at Featherstone.
Lynx will select from: Murray, Jones, Welsh, Abram, Parsley, Geritas, O'Loughlin, Norton, Hodgkinson, White, Smith, Gildart, Solomon, Prest, Walsh, James, Rushton, Guest, Campbell.
Barrow, under new coach Paul Charlton started the season in fine style, but three successive defeats have seen them drop into the lower reaches of the league.
Last weekend they went down to a 44-26 home defeat against inform Leigh and they will be eager to get back into winning ways. Like Lynx they have injury problems, but they play open attractive rugby and an entertaining game is in prospect.
On Monday the visit to Widnes will be one of the most testing of the season. During pre-season they bought many super league players like Phil Cantilion, Lokeni Savello and Paul Mansson. One player Lynx will be familiar with is French scrum half Fabien Devecchi who played against them in last season Trez Tourni. Like most teams in the league they have proved to be strong at home and indifferent away, but last weekend they had a comfortable 33-18 win at Spotland against Oldham and currently stand fifth in the table.
