PEACE protesters held a rally outside Burnley Town Hall opposing the NATO attacks on Serbia.
A group of of 20 socialists and peace movement supporters gathered to condemn the government's support for the NATO bombing campaign, claiming nothing has been achieved by the attacks.
Socialist Workers' Party spokesman Richard McSween said: "It wasn't a huge number of protesters but it's still early days and we think as the days and weeks pass opinion will go against the war.
"We held a meeting last night and set up an anti-war committee and we will have a petition in Burnley town centre on Saturday. Then we will discuss what to do next.
"I have read that after a week of war there seems to be a lot of doubt as to whether anything has been achieved apart from the Serbs being thrown out. We are showing that there is opposition and there is plenty of ammunition left in us yet."
