St Helens Crusaders 16 Leigh Royal Oak 30 THIS game slipped away from Crusaders in the closing minutes.

But there was never going to be a repeat of the encounter earlier in the season when the Leigh side took Crusaders apart.

Their forwards never took a backward step, with props Molyneux and Yelland running strongly and hooker Capewell dangerous from acting half-back.

And the work of Ledger, Hull and Saunders enabled half-backs Fairhurst and Forber to probe for gaps.

And from a Forber grubber, centre Daz Lee pounced to give Crusaders the lead.

Winger Chris Abbott added to Crusaders' account and the final try came from skipper Andy Fairhurst. Saunders added a conversion and a penalty.
