West Park 52 Oldershaw 7 WEST Park romped to success in their final home league game of the season.
It took them two minutes to open their scoring account. Half-backs Danny McCormack and Martin Strett created the opening for Carl Bibby's try which Strett converted.
A Park clearance kick was charged down by Oldershaw centre Gavin Scott who was impeded in the chase for the loose ball the referee judging obstruction and awarding a penalty try converted by fly-half Willy Gardner.
It was the visitors' only scoring contribution as Park added a further 24 points before the interval.
Mark Potter went over from a forward drive originating in a line-out, Strett converting and also making a fine break to put Chris Stabler in for a try.
Neil Kilshaw finished off a slick handling move and the final score of the first half came with Strett's conversion of Carl Bibby's second try. Oldershaw made a spirited start to the second half and kept Park out for almost 30 minutes by retaining possession and driving for the home line. But Park's defence held out well and then returned to the offensive scoring 21 points in 10 minutes as Paul Arnold and Keith Hill came on from the bench for Sean Fletcher and Neil Atherton. Phil Houlton scored twice and Kilshaw scored his second, Strett bringing his tally to six successful conversions to join Nigel Heslop on the man of the match podium.
