A 67-year-old Newton man who killed his wife last year has been ordered to be detained in a mental hospital.
Terence Morris, a retired accounts clerk, denied the murder of his wife, Lurlene, 64, but admitted a charge of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Morris attacked his wife, who he had known since the age of 12, with a scaffolding pole.
