THREE heavy goods wagons were badly damaged by fire after a blaze broke out in a Bury haulage yard.
Fire officers believe the outbreak began when a wheel on one truck overheated.
Two crews tackled the blaze at 6.30am yesterday, March 31, at Brightfleet in Every Street, Bury.
It is believed flames from the burning wheel spread to two other wagons nearby. Damage is expected to run into thousands of pounds.
The vehicles were a 7.5ton Mercedes-Benz and two, 16ton Ford Iveco wagons.
Fire officers say one of the vehicles had earlier arrived at the yard after a journey from Scotland. Crews were at the scene for an hour.
