BURY-BASED Pennine Telecom has been involved in the successful northern trial of a new cordless communication system.
Pennine engineers installed the new Panasonic DECT (Digital European Cordless Telephony) at Lancashire manufacturing company James Thornber Ltd of Clitheroe.
It proved to be the ideal communications solution for the family textile firm, which is one of the largest jacquard furnishing fabric plants in the UK.
The company needed to stay in contact with four key members of staff who were frequently away from their desk telephones.
Pennine engineers installed a Panasonic telephone system, combined with the DECT.
This now ensures the elusive staff members are always within reach - and the system surpassed customer expectations.
Managing director Stephen Thornber said that two factors influenced the firm's choice of Salford Street-based Pennine Telecom as supplier.
"Firstly, we have dealt with Roger King of Pennine before so we were able to trust his knowledge and experience.
"Secondly, Pennine is a financially secure company with a reputation for quality."
The Pennine DECT system is set for general release in mid April.
