IF you fancy taking to the hills Rossendale Search and Rescue Team are staging their annual Haslingden Walk on June 6.
The volunteer team, which is responsible for the north Bury area, has teamed-up with the Holden Arms public house in Haslingden to help boost much needed funds for the local mountain rescue service.
For those keen to exert themselves on the Rossendale Moors, the search and rescue team will be manning check-points along a 12-mile route. Hundreds of walkers and runners from all ages are expected to take part in the charity trek which is one of the team's major fund-raising events of the year.
For those preferring fun at a more leisurely pace, the Holden Arms will be the venue for a major fund-raising extravaganza on the same day with the rescue team benefiting from cash raised.
Entry and sponsorship forms for the 12-mile walk are available by contact event co-ordinator Bob Brindley 01706 224300 or from the Clegg Street headquarters by ringing 01706 229315.
