THE media reports have suggested we are a bitter lot who will boo anyone who left for pastures new.
We might well have cause to be bitter, but we're not. We applauded ex-Claret Steve Davis when he played at Turf Moor in a Burnley shirt.
(By contrast, this season after he transferred to us the Luton fans didn't stop taunting him.)
We even applauded Taylor's four goals for Gillingham the other month - because we appreciate good football.
If they play good football we appreciate it - which is why we still like David Eyres.
But Kurt Nogan is different. Yes, he is a talent but while he was at Turf Moor he always put himself first.
When he asked for a massive pay rise under Adrian Heath three years ago, it was turned down because it was way above what everyone else was paid.
Then his level of commitment dropped and he became Kurt No-goals.
Heath dropped him to the bench so, in the true spirit of team play, Nogan didn't even turn up for the game.
I don't approve of booing but it only happened because he treated the club poorly. He tries to hold the club to ransom and, fortunately, failed.
What a pity he wasn't as determined to help the Burnley cause as he was to put one over on us.
Perhaps if he had we wouldn't mind it so much when we read of the respect he commands over on that side of Lancashire.
A real Burnley fan
