Colchester United 1 Preston North End 0
WARREN Aspinall put a major spoke in Preston's promotion bandwagon last night.
Aspinall's clinical finish, just 12 minutes from time, condemned ten man North End to only their eighth league defeat of the season.
But it leaves the way open for Walsall to overtake them in the race to accompany Fulham to Division One. Walsall, with two games in hand, are just four points adrift.
Preston wasted good chances, notably skipper Sean Gregan, and then made it uphill all the way when on-loan Neil Clement was sent off on 51 minutes for his second bookable offence.
