THE Clarets' new strip for next season was set to be unveiled at Turf Moor this afternoon.
The millennium kit brings together the old and the new at Burnley with the contract for the new-look strip going to Superleague.
An off-shoot of that company is Burnley-based The Glory Years - run by ex-Clarets player and manager Frank Casper and former Turf Moor commercial manager Joyce Pickles - which will make the strip.
"We are delighted to be putting the business with a local company," said director Bob Blakeborough, who had talks with eight firms who were interested in succeeding adidas as the Clarets kit supplier. "It was a deal as good as any other on offer and we believe that Frank Casper and Joyce Pickles know the needs of Burnley Football Club and the supporters."
Burnley experienced supply problems with this year's strip last summer but expect the new manufacturers to come up with the goods.
The design of the new strip has been kept under wraps but was expected to be revealed at half-time during Burnley's home game against Colchester United this afternoon. And in another spin-off of the deal, Superleague are also to sponsor the Clarets School of Excellence teams from next season.
