PAUL CRICHTON: Did everything he had to efficiently in keeping a first clean sheet in 13 games but he could almost have taken the afternoon off 6

ALLY PICKERING: Another impressive performance from the full-back who was comfortable when asked to push further forward and accurate with his distribution 8

TOM COWAN: Steady rather than spectacular on this occasion, he still played his part in an improved defensive performance 7

MICKY MELLON: Diligant in the middle but it was a day when the midfield was sometimes by-passed which reduced Mellon's impact as a creative force 6

STEVE DAVIS: Rock-solid at the back, Davis won a couple of important headers and didn't let anything past all afternoon 8

CHRIS BRASS: A game that suited Brass down to the ground as he dug in and didn't give an inch to help keep the County strikers quiet 8

GLEN LITTLE: Employed as a more central striker Little wasn't at his best, although he was still behind two of the Clarets best chances 6 GORDON ARMSTRONG: The sweeper has had his terrace critics but he showed his worth here with an excellent defensive performance 8

PAUL COOK: Grafted hard and unfurled a couple of quality passes but the hurly-burly nature of the game didn't bring the best out of Cook 6

ANDY PAYTON: Full of running and closest to getting a Burnley winner only to be denied a penalty 7

LENNY JOHNROSE: Added some energy to the Burnley midfield without taking the game by the scruff of the neck for long periods 6

SUBSTITUTES

Ronnie Jepson: Another step on the comeback trail wit h a 15-minute performance in midfield which helped the Clarets keep it tight 6
