A MAN has been charged with the murder of Anthony Leecy, whose body was found in a brook in Clitheroe.
Danny Derbyshire, 24, of Burnley Road, Accrington, was due to appear before magistrates in Blackburn today.
He was arrested after Mr Leecy's body was discovered in a section of Mearley Brook, near St Michael and St John's Primary School, by a man walking his dog shortly after 7am on Thursday.
Mr Leecy, 29, lived in Standen Road, Clitheroe. He worked as a cloth inspector at Thornber's Mill in the town. The 6ft 4ins "gentle giant" had been nicknamed Humphrey since childhood.
He died after leaving work at 9.55pm on Wednesday following a two to ten shift. His parents, Ann and Tony, passed the spot where his body was found on their way to work without realising their son was dead.
