A NEW 100ft chimney - described by protesters as a monstrosity - would be good for the environment, Hyndburn development committee decided.
They gave the go-ahead for the stack at John Wood Steel Drums, in Victoria Street, Oswaldtwistle. The firm was to spend between £30,000 and £50,000 to disperse noxious fumes.
