WHAT is the world coming to? No, I am not a pensioner looking back on the good old days, I am a 32-year-old mother.
As I was coming out of Darwen Leisure Centre at 5.30pm with my two daughters aged six and eight, my youngest daughter wanted to run down the ramp while we went down the steps (something I'm sure most children do).
As she got to the bottom, she almost collided with a man jogging past with his dog which was not on a lead. Did he moan a bit or tut at her being in his way? No, he gave her a mouthful of obscene abuse. My daughter was in total shock and so was I. Wouldn't a simple 'excuse me' have been more in order.
They say children learn by example - God help us!!
