DRINKERS at Burnley's Hapton Inn got a shock when their pool balls started to glow in the dark.
There's no radiation leak though, it's just the latest craze to hit East Lancashire - ultraviolet pool.
Since the Accrington Road pub was refurbished, licensees Ian and Carol Bailey have been swamped with requests for their blazing balls.
Carol said: "The pool room looks excellent when everything is set up."
"It's a novel idea and gets everyone who comes in talking. We get loads of people coming to the bar asking to play."
The company behind the idea is UVPool from Birkenhead, a company with big plans for the game.
The balls are transparent with a neon disc inside that lights up under an ultraviolet light.
