A CABARET band is in danger of being forced to end its career on a low note after sound and lighting equipment was stolen from its van after a gig in Colne.

Pendle group Back on Track finished a set at the North Valley Hotel and returned to the Nelson home of leader Roy Turner with equipment worth between £1,200 and £1,500 in its Bedford van.

The van was parked outside overnight and Roy discovered the break-in the next morning.

Now the five-piece group, which has enjoyed success across the North West since its formation 14 months ago, is offering an undisclosed reward for information leading to the return of some, or all, of the equipment.

"This is stopping us from going out to perform," said Roy, of Brunswick Street. "This equipment is vital to us. We can't do any gigs without it."

The haul included an unusual McCoy passive monitor, another monitor and sets of lights and various cables and plugs.

Anyone with any information can contact Roy on 01282 615553 or the police on 01282 425001.
