GOALS in each half from Neil Otley and Warren Peake helped Great Harwood continue their valiant fight against the drop last night.
Harwood's win over fellow Unibond League First Division strugglers Farsley means Dennis Underwood 's men have now collected 17 of the last 24 points available.
And although they remain bottom of the table, Town are just a point below Alfreton Town and within six points of possible safety.
A strong wind contributed to a dour game but Harwood won't be complaining and after surviving early pressure the home side went in front when Otley converted Neil Baron's low cross.
And Harwood then took control with Peake and top man Lee Pennington running the midfield.
Celtic keeper Paul Allen saved from Graeme Lightblown and Mark Walsh before at the other end Andy Johnson's cracking save from a Paul Wharton 20-yarder paved the way for Harwood to go 2-0 up with the crucial second 14 minutes from time.
Substitute Martin Horsfield broke down the left and when he delivered the ball, Peake time his run perfectly to crash a half-volley past Allen.
That goal gave Harwood the breathing space to survive a hat-trick of late chances from ex-York City and Chorley striker Ian Blackstone who failed to put the brakes on Town's revival.
