A COMMUNITY in Burnley is in mourning after a six-year-old girl died following a road accident.
Blanish Kauser was with her family in Wakefield visiting her uncle who had just returned from a pilgrimage.
She was playing out in the street when she was involved in an accident with a car.
Blanish was one of seven children of Mohammed Rashid and his wife, Shahin, who live in Hurtley Street, Daneshouse, Burnley.
She attended Barden Junior School. Her father works as a taxi driver with Royal Taxis.
Family friend Saeed Choudry said: "The whole community is in mourning and naturally her family are devastated.''
"The family left Burnley at about 3.30pm on Monday arriving at the uncle's house at about 5pm.
"The little girl went out to play and a short time later the accident happened.
"She was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and died at about 7.30pm.''
A funeral service was held at the Ghosia Mosque, Colne Road, Burnley, yesterday prior to burial at Burnley Cemetery.
