ANY lingering title hopes Bamber Bridge may have been harbouring have been laid to rest following a disappointing Easter campaign.
One point from a possible six will leave Brig scrabbling to make a top six place unless they can turn their fortunes round once again.
After losing to top-end Winsford on Easter Saturday, they could only force a draw with bottom-placed Accrington Stanley in front of a fair-to-middling crowd of 618.
And things won't be particularly easy this weekend as Brig travel to Altrincham, the team widely predicted to win the UniBond League this season.
What a difference a month makes. When the teams last met just four weeks ago it was a top-of-the-table clash with Brig holding top spot and Altrincham rapidly catching them up.
Since they lost 1-0 to Alty, Brig's standing in the league has been seriously dented.
They are now in fourth place, on 62 points, six points behind top-placed Worksop (who were just inside the bottom six a month ago). Brig have played three more games than them.
But despite the dashed dreams, Greenwood and his growing army of supporters aren't terribly disappointed.
As Greenwood said: "Over the past couple of years we have always worried about relegation but this time we are not.
"Now we want to finish as high as possible and that is why we will be giving it maximum effort right until the end of the last game."
It's not going to be easy for Brig. They face Worksop on the last day of the season, with a trip to Leigh RMI, who came so close to dumping Fulham out of the FA Cup earlier this season, after the Altrincham game.
