A BUS shelter is to be rotated 180 degrees in a bid to solve a long-running war of words between neighbours in Lea, Preston.
The bus shelter, in Aldfield Avenue, has become the subject of a battle between local bus users who say they need the shelter, and one man, who claims it has made his life a nightmare.
Patrick Wilson, pictured, has complained about the shelter, saying yobs are using it as a hang-out, invading his privacy.
Members of the Parkfield Residents Association have demanded that the shelter remains exactly where it is - saying the man's complaints are just another bid to get the bus stop moved.
Now Preston Council believe it has appeased both parties, by turning the bus stop around!
A council spokesman said: "The back of the shelter is parallel with the road.
"To prevent people waiting in the shelter from having a view of residents' back gardens, we plan to rotate it by 180 degrees and fit the back of the shelter with opaque material.
"As the youths will not be facing Mr Wilson's property, it will reduce most aspects of the nuisance."
Mr Wilson thinks differently. He told the council: "I have lived here for 16 years and have only had a problem since the bus shelter was put up. There is a much better place further along, where there is a green which could include a bus lay-by."
The residents' association hit back, saying: "This is just a ploy from a non-bus user to have the shelter removed.
