LOCAL rugby star Joanna Hearne from Lytham became one of the few people who can claim to have won a major cup final at Twickenham after she helped Oxford win the BUSA Halifax Championship in front of HRH The Princess Royal.
Oxford claimed their first BUSA Halifax title in the women's rugby final, beating Loughborough 10-0 with tries in either half by full-back Elizabeth Cribb and Swedish international fly-half Ulrika Andersson.
Joanna, 21, an ex-pupil of Queen Mary, Lytham, is in her second year studying experimental psychology at Oxford.
