BLACKPOOL Bowmen's winter league - held over seven events since November 1998 - resulted in a commendable win by Dave Sandham, with Derek Platt and Colin Kirk in joint second place.
Dave, who has been struggling with his form recently, shot steadily and well throughout a highly contested series of events.
Following this, the club's indoor championships took place last weekend, with a large entry.
Based on handicaps, first place went to Brian Cullen with 1,457, closely following by Julie Yates on 1,446 and Walter Danson on 1,442.
The archery club is looking forward to a good summer, with a steadily increasing membership, completion of the clubhouse extension and the likelihood of two new qualified coaches in the autumn.
New members are always welcome, especially women and young people, who are currently under-represented.
