MITSUBISHI Motors, in conjunction with a national newspaper, is to launch one of the UK's biggest amateur golf championships.
More than 2,000 clubs throughout the UK are being invited to participate in the championship which culminates at the world famous Valderrama course near Sotogrande in Southern Spain, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup.
By incorporating the first round qualifier into any club Stableford or Medal competition between April 12 and June 30, each club can put its top qualifying player through to one of ten regional finals taking place in July.
In August the semi-final will be held at the beautiful Warwickshire course, with the title fought out in September at Valderrama.
One of the great benefits of the competition is that everyone will share in the champion's success.
First, the club to which the eventual winner belongs will receive a £2,000 donation to its amenity fund and the club's professional stands to win a brand new Mitsubishi Challenger 4x4 vehicle worth over £20,000.
Also included within the promotion, but not conditional upon members entering the golf competition, is a free prize draw for 20 winners to benefit from a two-week share of a luxury property in Sotogrande.
Colin Pierce, director of marketing for Mitsubishi Motors, commented: "Golf is consistently listed as one of the top leisure interests by our customers.
"Therefore, we felt than an exciting golf championship of this nature would be of particular interest to both existing and prospective customers alike."
