RAINFORD Cricket Club is travelling full steam ahead for the new season.
Eighteen-year-old Australian wicket-keeper Andrew Robinson is due to fly in early this month. The Queenslander comes on the recommendation of Rainford's former Aussie star Troy Martyn.
Skipper Ste Harrison is aiming for a quick return to the Southport and District League Premier Division.
The second team is led by John Pickavance, while the Sunday XI are again captained by Ian Harrison.
On the junior front, Rainford will again field four teams - the under 11s, 13s, 15s and 18s.
Club president Tony Hemingway will welcome and budding stars to their regular Friday practice sessions, from 4.30, when club coach John Pendleton will be on hand to help iron out any flaws.
The club's main sponsors are Sysco Management Consultants, Carborundum and the NatWest Bank.
