West Park 13 Orrell 17 PREMIERSHIP two side Orrell were given a severe fright by a West Park team who belied the five division gap between . Down 17-0 after 30 minutes Park could have expected a drubbing, Kurt Johnson, Matt Lacey and Simon Verbickas scored tries with the latter adding a conversion.
However, the home pack were undaunted and drove Mark Potter over for an unconverted try just before the interval. Martin Strett had been off form with his goal kicking in the first half and full-back Neil Houghton took over to register an early penalty. Potter's second try set up a pulsating final 10 minutes as Park, with Tongan centre Harmon Tuavao spearheading the attack, strove manfully to snatch victory.
This Saturday, April 10, Park have a friendly fixture scheduled at Lymm, but must concentrate on preparation for their vital league game at Caldy and the Lancs Trophy Final against Wigan at Orrell on April 25.
